1. Who is LastWordsFrom.Me designed for?
LastWordsFrom.Me is designed for anyone who wants to leave final messages for their loved ones in case something unexpected happens. While primarily intended for family members, the app can also be used to send messages to friends and colleagues.
2. What kind of messages can I leave?
Most people use LastWordsFrom.Me to share heartfelt thoughts and feelings they might not express during their lifetime. However, you can also include practical information, such as the location of important documents.
Important: This app is not intended for legal matters such as wills or estate planning. Always seek professional legal advice for such matters.
3. How does the Heartbeat Monitor work?
The Heartbeat Monitor tracks whether you're still active. How it works depends on your platform:
On mobile (Android & iOS): The app runs quietly in the background and detects your activity automatically. It looks for signs of life such as location changes, step count, and heart rate data. You don't need to open the app — it works silently.
On web: You check in manually by tapping a button when you visit the app.
You choose a check-in window between 3 and 30 days. As long as any activity is detected (or you check in manually) within that window, your messages stay safe and are not sent.
4. What happens when my check-in window expires?
If no activity is detected and you haven't checked in within your chosen number of days, the system begins the delivery process. Before any messages are sent, you'll receive reminder notifications giving you a chance to check in and stop the process. If you still don't respond, your messages are then delivered to your recipients.
5. How are my messages delivered?
Your messages are delivered via email to the recipient email addresses you've set. Each recipient receives only the message(s) you've written specifically for them. Messages are end-to-end encrypted until the moment of delivery, ensuring your privacy is protected.
6. Can I stop delivery after it's been triggered?
Yes — as long as you check in before the reminder period ends, the countdown resets and no messages are sent. Simply open the app and tap the check-in button, or on mobile, just use your phone normally and the app will detect your activity automatically.
7. What's the difference between mobile and web?
Mobile (Android & iOS): The full experience. The app silently detects your activity through location changes, step count, and heart rate — so you don't need to remember to check in. Also includes biometric authentication and push notifications.
Web: A companion for managing your account. You can create and edit messages, manage recipients, and check in manually by tapping a button. The web version requires you to actively visit the app to confirm you're still here.
